Sunrise Hike of Mt. Baldy

A last min. call to leave Long Beach at 4 in the morning resulted in an unprepared and spectacular hike up Mt. Baldy.

Lightbox show!

The show was designed to help awaken community effort and business in Bixby Knolls. Alexis Gregg and I were two of the noted artists presenting to a crowd of almost 400 and hosted by KJAZZ radio station. One of my favorite parts of this event (aside from seeing these bad-boys finally in action) was meeting Minnesota's first sky diving woman who, at 74, still jumps out of planes.

The Linden Project

My new place in downtown Long Beach has been more than kind to me. The house is filled with musicians and visitors that make these hardwood floors throb. Here's some snaps of my daily life

Rancho Los Alamitos

Long Beach's best kept secret settles on top of 7.5 acres located at the top of a hill directly adjacent to CSULB. Rancho Los Alamitos is a historic ranch site with beautiful gardens and quite literally a breath of fresh air. The Cactus Garden contains some amazing sights as some of the plants are quite old and take on an almost prehistoric vibe. Free to the public Wed-Sunday from 1-5, I'm going to be photographing there much more frequently.

Trying out some new things - my favorite image comes from an unexpected happening. with the light hitting just right, my camera captures the reflection between my polarizer and my UV filter and displays the writing on the lens. You can see it on the left side of the image directly below, just click on it to zoom in.

New Project

Due to Circut City going out of business, every store is having a liquidation sale, including their display cases. A small prize that most people don't take note on is their lightboxes for CD and movie displays. A glowing 48"x48" LLcoolJ or Incredible Hulk can be bought (light fixtures, frame, and all) for only 50 bucks a pop, a strong friend and a tool box to dismantle it from the store. Replace the angry green beast with some specially printed photography and you have one incredible piece of work. Here are some of the prints I'm going to be showing in lightboxes soon at a charity event in Bixby Knolls, March 15th.

Around the tables

After a great night of friends and music, a couple of good friends came by to spin some records and goof around. This style of capturing motion and essence is probably my favorite form of photography.
